Why Printed Glass

Design Freedom Meets Glass Durability

Glass is one of the most demanding substrates in design — transparent, rigid, and unforgiving of poor adhesion. Polyprint's UV printing process turns plain glass into a fully customized surface without sacrificing the clarity, hardness, and longevity that make glass valuable in the first place.

How It Works

The UV Printing Process

UV printing applies ultraviolet-curable inks directly to the glass surface. As each ink layer is laid down, UV light instantly cures and hardens it — so the graphic bonds to the substrate rather than sitting on top of it. A protective top coat seals the result for scratch and UV resistance.

Where It Performs

Applications for Printed Glass

Printed glass bridges branding and architecture. These are the environments where decision-makers most often specify it.

Architecture & Interiors

  • Glass partitions and office dividers with branded graphics
  • Printed balustrades, splashbacks, and feature walls
  • Privacy patterns and frosted-effect designs
  • Facade and curtain-wall glass at architectural scale

Retail & Hospitality

  • Storefront and window branding
  • Display cases and point-of-sale glass
  • Backlit signage and decorative panels

Industrial & Technical

  • Equipment glass with printed scales, markings, and instructions
  • Safety and wayfinding graphics on glass surfaces
  • Branded glass for machinery enclosures and control panels

Why Procurement Teams Choose It

  • One supplier for standard and fully custom output
  • Tested durability — no fading or peeling in service
  • Brand assets become permanent, not applied vinyl

FAQ

Printed Glass — Common Questions

What is UV printing on glass?

UV printing on glass uses ultraviolet-curable inks that are instantly hardened by UV light onto the glass surface, then sealed with a protective coating. This produces a vivid, durable, scratch- and UV-resistant graphic bonded to the glass.

Is printed glass durable enough for exterior use?

Yes. With a UV-stable, scratch-resistant coating, printed glass withstands sunlight, weather, and abrasion. Polyprint surfaces are tested for UV weathering, scratch hardness, and impact resistance to commercial standards.

Can you print full-color photographic images on glass?

Yes. UV printing supports photographic-quality, full-color graphics, brand patterns, logos, and gradients, including the use of white ink for opacity on transparent glass.

What types of glass can be printed?

Flat glass formats used in architecture, partitions, signage, splashbacks, and display can be printed. Specifications such as tempering and thickness should be confirmed for each project.
