Why Printed Ceramic

Turn Standard Tile Into a Custom Surface

Ceramic and tile are everywhere in commercial and residential design — but off-the-shelf options limit what designers can do. Polyprint's UV printing process turns plain tile into a fully customized surface: murals, brand patterns, wayfinding, and photographic detail, all bonded to the ceramic without sacrificing the hardness and longevity that make tile a premium material.

How It Works

The UV Printing Process

UV printing applies ultraviolet-curable inks directly to the ceramic surface. As each ink layer is laid down, UV light instantly cures and hardens it — so the graphic bonds to the tile rather than sitting on top of it. A protective top coat seals the result for scratch and UV resistance, even across multi-tile murals.

Instant UV curing for sharp, smudge-free detail
White-ink layer for opacity and color accuracy on glazed tile
Full-color, photographic-quality reproduction
Seamless artwork across multi-tile layouts
Protective coating for scratch and UV stability

Applications for Printed Ceramic & Tile

Printed tile bridges branding, art, and architecture. These are the environments where decision-makers most often specify it.

Architecture & Interiors

  • Feature walls and tiled murals with photographic detail
  • Branded splashbacks for kitchens and hospitality
  • Decorative accent tiles and custom patterns
  • Lobby and corridor wayfinding integrated into tile

Retail & Hospitality

  • In-store branding tiled into walls and counters
  • Restaurant and bar feature surfaces
  • Hotel bathroom and spa custom tilework

Signage & Wayfinding

  • Durable ceramic signage for public and transit spaces
  • Numbered and lettered tiles for institutional use
  • Heritage and commemorative tile panels

Why Procurement Teams Choose It

  • One supplier for standard and fully custom tile output
  • Tested durability — no fading or peeling in service
  • Designs become part of the tile, not a surface decal

FAQ

Printed Ceramic & Tile — Common Questions

What is UV printing on ceramic and tile?

UV printing on ceramic uses ultraviolet-curable inks that are instantly hardened by UV light onto the tile surface, then sealed with a protective coating. This produces a vivid, durable graphic bonded to the ceramic that resists scratching and fading.

Are printed ceramic tiles durable enough for walls and floors?

Yes. With a UV-stable, scratch-resistant coating, printed tiles withstand abrasion, cleaning, and light exposure. Polyprint surfaces are tested for UV weathering, pencil hardness, impact, and wear resistance to commercial standards. Intended use should be confirmed per project.

Can you print photographic images and patterns on tile?

Yes. UV printing supports full-color, photographic-quality graphics, brand patterns, logos, murals across multiple tiles, and gradients, including white ink for opacity and color accuracy on the ceramic surface.

What types of ceramic and tile can be printed?

Flat ceramic, porcelain, and tile formats used in walls, splashbacks, feature panels, and signage can be printed. Surface finish, glaze, and intended environment should be confirmed for each project.

How do I request a quote for printed ceramic tile?
