There's no single shipping method — the substrate's fragility, along with the panel's size and weight, decides the packaging. Rigid, brittle materials like glass and stone need edge-cushioned, fully enclosed crating and often a near-vertical orientation to avoid flexing; lighter substrates like foam board or plastic can ship with simpler corner-guard packaging on a pallet. What stays constant across every substrate: corners and edges are where transit damage shows up first, and the crate should get inspected the moment it arrives, not after it's already in storage or halfway installed.

A fully enclosed plywood crate with foam or corner-block padding at every edge is the standard for anything brittle — glass, stone, and some solid-surface panels — and it's often built to hold the panel close to vertical on an A-frame rather than flat, since a large thin panel can flex and stress-crack under its own weight if it's stacked flat in transit.
