Vibrant, lightweight display graphics on PVC foam board, foamex, and Kapa — for retail signage, exhibition displays, POS, and interior graphics.
Request a Foam Board QuoteFoam board's combination of light weight, structural rigidity, smooth printable surface, and competitive cost makes it one of the most widely used substrates for display graphics worldwide. UV printing directly onto foam board eliminates the need for print-and-mount workflows — inks are applied and cured directly on the substrate, producing sharp, vibrant results ready for installation.
For retail environments, exhibition stands, trade show displays, and interior graphic applications, UV-printed foam board provides a cost-effective, professional-quality output that installs quickly and handles reliably.
PVC foam board weighs a fraction of aluminium composite or glass at equivalent thickness — making it practical for large-format hanging displays, temporary installations, and transport-intensive exhibition use.
Smooth PVC foam board surface produces sharp, photographic-quality UV output. Full-colour, accurate to brand colour specifications. White ink underlay available for vividness on coloured boards.
3mm, 5mm, 10mm, and 19mm options. Match substrate thickness to panel size and structural requirements — 5mm is the standard for most exhibition and retail display applications.
CNC routeable and cuttable to any shape after printing. Custom silhouettes, shaped display pieces, branded letters and logo cutouts all achievable from UV-printed foam board panels.
| Type | Best For | Interior | Exterior | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PVC foam board (foamex, forex) | Retail, exhibition, POS | Excellent | Short-term only | Most common; smooth surface, good UV print quality |
| Kapa board (polystyrene foam) | Short-term display, mounting | Good | Not recommended | Lighter than PVC foam; less durable |
| Aluminium-faced foam board | Rigid display panels, POS | Excellent | Limited | Stiffer, heavier, excellent print surface |
| Expanded PVC (Palight, Sintra) | Shaped elements, fabrication | Excellent | Short-term | Easy to rout and fabricate; print quality comparable to standard foamex |

Get a Quote →The most common are PVC foam board (foamex/forex), expanded PVC (Palight, Sintra), Kapa board, and aluminium-faced foam board. PVC foam board is the most popular — smooth surface, good print quality, lightweight, and available in 3mm–19mm thickness. Polyprint prints on all these types.
Standard PVC foam board has limited outdoor life — UV exposure causes surface degradation without protective coating within 6–18 months. For outdoor applications, a UV-stable laminate or coating extends life significantly. For long-term exterior signage, aluminium composite panel (ACM) is the better substrate. Polyprint specifies substrate and coating for each outdoor project.
3mm for short-term display and lightweight graphics. 5mm is the standard for retail and exhibition applications — good balance of rigidity and weight. 10mm for large panels (1.5m+) or freestanding structures where bowing under the panel's own weight is a concern.
Yes. UV-printed foam board can be CNC routed, laser cut, or hand cut to any shape. This is commonly used for shaped display elements, branded cutouts, and custom silhouette signage. Polyprint can supply pre-cut panels to specification or full sheets.
